A native of Michigan, Dr. Schmidt received his medical degree from Michigan State University before completing his residency training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee–where he served as Chief Resident of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Schmidt participated in numerous national and international conferences and earned a Distinction in Leadership Training upon graduation. Following residency, Dr. Schmidt continued post-graduate training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City where he served as a Chief Fellow and completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in <a href="https://premierpsc.com/">Premier PSC</a>
